What type of over-the-counter eye medicine should i use for dryness and itching that lasts a day or so?

Lubricating drops: Look for plain lubricating or moisturizing drops for short-duration dryness/itching symptoms. If it's longer lasting you might consider allergy eye drops, but for a day or two i typically just recommend moisturizing drops.
