Ketotifen/lubricants: If you aren't sure you have allergies, start with a lubicating eye drop ( eg theratears , systane)-- you may have dry eyes, which will get worse if you use allergy drops containing antihistamines. Avoid drops with decongestants, like naphcon, as these can have side effects. Ketotifen drops are better, and contain only antihistamine, if you do have allergy eyes (zyrtec, zaditor, (ketotifen) alaway drops).

Dry eye + allergies: Dry eye and allergies are very common. I would try artificial tears frequently during the day, ointment at night, warm compresses 1-2 times a day, and omega-3 fatty acid supplements. You can also try topical and/or systemic anti-allergy meds. If no improvement, see an eye doctor.
