Infection: Hydrosalpinx is a dilation of the fallopian tube, usually caused by a passed infection. It is a sign of chronic tubal damage. It is associated with infertility and ectopic pregnancy. Some times it is recommended to remove a hydrosalpinx to assist with fertility treatment.
