From inside the tube: The fallopian tube secretes small amounts of fluid inside itself to bathe the interior in an environment that keeps it moist and healthy and appropriate for a possible fertilization of an egg. If the tube is damaged or blocked, the fluid can accumulate and result in a hydrosalpinx.
