Depends: If you're referring to testosterone replacement it would be contraindicated for prostate cancer patients. It can be. : Androgen deprivation therapy (adt) is used in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer. Though is can slow progression of the disease, it is associated with significant side effects such as bone loss, muscle loss, loss of libido, and possible increased cardiovascular risk. Intermittent hormonal therapy is now under investigation, as are agents to counteract some of the side effects.
