Some, sometimes: Studies have found that orgasm, whether from masturbation, is accompanied by a huge spike in prolactin levels in women. Males also have a prolactin spike with orgasm but much less than females. This is not thought to be harmful. There is no chronic health risk, hormonal or any other, that's been linked to masturbation.
