HCG: We always trigger ovulation on Clomid (clomiphene) cycles using HCG injections at 5000-10000 units. This injection triggers ovulation by simulating the lh (leutinizing hormone) surge in the middle of the cycle. Very effective & predictable. Ovulation occurs 24-36 hours after HCG injection. On a spontaneous (no HCG injection) cycle, ovulation is unpredictable.
