Joint replacement ?: After medical school and an orthopedic surgery residency program , many go on to do an " extra " year or fellowship in orthopedic sub specialties ( sports medicine, foot and ankle, spine, hand, trauma and joint replacement ). Many general orthopedists do joint replacements . Those who have done a fellowship in joint replacement have more training ! good luck!
