See below: You need to attend medical school and then do an orthopedic residency and then a fellowship in foot and ankle surgery. You will be exposed to back surgery but may not have to do any depending on the program.

You don't have: To do anything you don't want to. You can specialize in foot and ankle......First step is getting into medical school.... So you need to take mcats. There are required pre-med classes to take.
