In a hospital unit: There are many hospitals that have special midwife friendly units that have a family friendly home like set up. Their suites are close enough to the traditional delivery room/surgical suite to provide a safe setting for your delivery while permitting rapid response to any emergency.I've never been comfortable with home births.I've seen too many bad outcomes at delivery to consider them safe, ever.
