Safe if no problems : Hundreds of thousands of generations did the equivalent of home births over the millennia and civilization has survived. It is not the issue of safety for the average birth, but the realization that you have only minutes to intervene if a real problem arises that influences physicians.How many babies or mothers are you willing to lose to go back to the healthcare of 1900 ?
