Depends...: In general, surviving coma depends on the reason for the coma and whether the etiology of the coma is reversible or not. The longer the person is comatose, the less likely they will awaken. These are generalities, however, so ask your doctor about the specific case to find out the chance of survival of the individual patient as each case is different.
