Meningococcaldisease: Rapid diagnosis is very important and immediate treatment is essential so if Meningococcal disease is suspected, send the patient promptly to a doctor. The er is preferred to initiate prompt testing and treatment with antibiotics and other medications needed to stabilize his condition.
These patients are usually very sick and can worsen very quickly and die within hours.
