Can rectal prolapse make you sick if untreated?

Bowel control will: Suffer. When the rectum is prolapsing it is stretching the nerves as well as the sphincter muscles which keep stool in. The earlier the repair the less damage to the area. If the prolapse is so large and gets stuck the bowel can get sick and you can get sick from that.
