Short and long term: Most of the hospitals take care of acute patients whose length of stay is around 4-5 days. Some patients require much longer stay in a hospital such as requiring prolonged ventilation, wounds etc. These patients can stay upto 3weeks or more depending on the complexity of disease and surgical procedures done.
