Will acne scars ever completely go away?

Microdermabrasion: I have had many patients have microdermabrasion which seems to remove the top layers of the skin and it improves the appearance of the acne scars.

Acne scar progress: The appearance of acne scars may improve with time as the skin matures and the acne settles. Some of the appearance of acne scarring is related to the color of the scar. This definitely improves with time. The texture often will settle down, but may require treatment to look better.

Unlikely: Improvement of acne scarring following treatment(s) (e.g. Fractional laser skin resurfacing) ranges from subtle to dramatic. Generally incremental improvement occurs over time with multiple treatments. Effective treatments may require little or no downtime or downtime of a week or more.
