That depends: If the scars are new and superficial they may take weeks to months to heal. Older or deeper scars may never go away on their own. The best advise is to consult an experienced dermatologist or plastic surgeon to find out what can be done for your scars.

Depends: Scars by defiinition are permanent. However, often what people perceive as scars are not (pih- post inflammatory hyperpigmentation or inflammation). The key is preventing further acne from coming out to determine if there is indeed scars. There is treatment for actual scarring which includes lasers (not covered by insurance, expensive and variably effective) see a dermatologist for eval and treat.

What type?: Depressed scars don't disappear. . Redness and/or hyperpigmentation seen in healing lesions face after weeks or a few months. Acne is a serious, chronic, non-lifestyle-related, non-hygiene-related illness that cannot be cured until it remits on its own, but can always be managed with scientific rx.
