Threat 2 mom or baby: There are many maternal conditions that can affect pregnancy. Some are present before a woman gets pregnant, and others develop during the pregnancy. Fetal conditions can occur because of problems in development, abnormal intrauterine conditions or many of the maternal diseases or conditions such as diabetes or preeclampsia. Complications: High risk pregnancy means that you are at higher risk of experiencing possible complications because of your underlying medical condition as it relates to your pregnancy. Many diseases and conditions can cause a "high risk" pregnancy. Discuss your condition(s) with your obstetrician.
