Chemistry: The differences between the three are the active components from which the anesthetics are made. The anesthetics generally fall into one of two categories, amides or esters, and have different levels of duration. Some of the local anesthetics have Epinephrine at different concentrations which can contribute to the duration and effects of the particular anesthetic.
