Inflammation in eye: Serpiginous choroiditis is an uncommon inflammatory disease of the back of the eye. We don't fully understand the cause of this disease, but it is believe to result from our own immune system attacking the cells in the back of the eye. This can result in destruction of the retina and damage to the vision. Most doctors treat with steroids and other anti-inflammatory medications.
