Immunosuppressives: Serpiginous choroidits is an autoimmune condition that affects the critical layer under the retina but can rarely be caused by an infection so treatment depends on the cause. Most patients though are treated with drugs that suppress the immune system like prednisone, methotrexate, Mycophenolate Mofetil and cyclosporine. Newer meds include Remicade (infliximab) and humira. Treatment can be life long.
