Aneurysm symptom: It is usually detected by examination of the abdomen and auscultation: we can feel the size manually and hear the murmur of the circulation in an enlarged vessel. We do not always find by manual exam. Fortuitous discovery while looking for something else.
There are causes favorizing the development of abd aneurysm, from inborn genetically predisposed to long term results of infections.

By scan: Abdominal aortic aneurysms can sometimes be found by a good physical exam , it helps if you are thin. Otherwise, if there is a family history of aneurysm, or strong suspicion of one...An ultrasound of the abdomen can often rule it in or out..Failing that a ct-scan is the most accurate and expensive way to diagnose this problem.
