A member asked:

Can someone tell me the difference between advair diskus and symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) spray?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sure: Both contain a steroid and a long acting bronchodilator. For advair it's fluticasone and salmeterol, respectively and for symbicort (budesonide and formoterol) it's Budesonide and formoterol, respectively. Therapeutically, they are fairly equivalent, though individual responses may vary.
