Viral illness: Be seen. Most viral illnesses at this time of year are not the flu. But, your physician can give you directions on what meds may be helpful. As to what to eat, you should eat healthy, and drink plenty of fluids, as dehydration is generally the reason you have to be hospitalized for any viral illness. Antiviral meds are rarely if ever indicated, as they are generally ineffective.
