A member asked:

Is there something i can put on a splinter to help draw it to the surface? my son has a splinter too deep to get with tweezers.

Not that I know of: Splinters can be left alone if they show no signs of inflammation & they will work their way out over time. If they are deep to the dermal junction, they may be anchored & expose deep skin to infection so extraction will be necessary. Most primary care providers have experience with brief extraction procedures that may include use of a local anesthetic.
