No need for GYN.: No, there is no need for a gyn visit. If periods are normal and cramping mild, then peds is all you need. Remember that initially periods may be irregular! but if periods are too irregular, too painful or too bloody then and only then will you need to gyn.

Not Yet: Generally gyne is not only related to onset of periods but to a degree sexual activity. I think you can wait a few years.
