Air: Stomach gurgling, or borborygmi, is thought to be caused by the movement of fluids and air through the hollow tubes of the intestines. Similar to a pipe filled with fluid, air and fluid will move based on gravity and contraction of the muscles in the intestine wall, which can lead to the sounds you're hearing. It's perfectly normal and likely has no significance at all!
