Hyperbaric therapy: There is no conclusive literature to date that shows that calcyphylaxis responds to hyperbaric oxygen therapy (hbo). Having said that, the science of hbo would indicate that early utilization of hbo therapy may allow oxygen dissolved in plasma to reduce hypoxemia in tissues downstream from a thrombotic blood vessel. This would be of great benefit for the suffering patient.

Unknown for sure: There have been "reports" of success with hyperbaric oxygen (hbot) but no scientific studies have been published to back this up. Sometimes we have to ask "did the wound heal because of the treatment or despite the treatment!" you need to work together with a wound specialist and a nephrologist on this one.

HBOT: There are articles suggesting that hyperbaric oxygen therapy may be beneficial for treatment of calyciphylaxis. However, this is not an indication for hbot ; there appears to be little research on this issue. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/11682664 http://www.Nature.Com/ki/journal/v62/n6/full/4493356a.Html.
