A member asked:

I am traveling to africa soon. if i have had the mmr vaccine and never had measles, am i still at some risk?

Yes but not measles: If you are traveling to africa measles is not at the top of your immunization or risk list. If you have been immunized with the series you are at low risk. Look at the cdc.Gov website for guidance. Malaria prophylaxis and accident prevention are real considerations.

Small: The vaccine does not protect everyone 100%. But if properly immunized you have minimized your risk. And measles is still rampant in africa.
