A member asked:

If you have a failed plain stents( restenosis) what is the next course of action?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Drug Eluting: Nowadays, we utilize drug eluting stents and perform stent in stent angioplasty (stent sandwich); if the lesion is not amenable to that, one can use other means such as rotational atherectomy or cutting balloon angioplasty, or a combination of those with stenting with a drug eluting stent. At times, plain old balloon angioplasty will work as well.
