Ureteral stents: Can be removed by the string or tether which should be visible at the urethral opening. If it is not there, the string may have migrated up into the urethra. In this case, an office cystoscopy might have to be performed to retrieve it. Numbing medication is placed in the urethra, and a flexible scope is passed into the urethra. Either the string or the stent can be grasped and removed.

Here are some…: Look at the tip of the penis while you're urinating so to see if the thread flows out of penis with urine and catch it soon you see it for self-pulling the stent as instructed.
