A member asked:

Will my retinas be damaged by mydriasis?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

No: Mydriasis, or dilated pupils, can be caused by eyedrops administered at the doctor's office or as the result of disease or injury. Although the pupil helps to control the amount of light entering the eye, it affords little help in protecting the eye from the light. Sunglasses will help reduce the intensity of the light and will add another layer of protection against uv damage.
