Drops or ointment?: Shake bottle well before use.
Put 1 - 2 drops topically in the conjunctival sac(s) 4 - 6 times a day. Dosage may be reduced after three to four days when satisfactory improvement has been obtained.
Apply small amount of ointment into the conjunctival sac(s) 3 - 4 times a day. When there is favorable response, dosage may be reduced gradually to once a day application for several days.

Check with doctor: Maxitrol (dexamethasone neomycin and polymyxin) is usually dosed 3-4 times per day but you should check with the eye doctor who prescribed the medication to make sure you are using it as directed.
