What causes only one bulging eye?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Many possible causes: The most common cause of proptosis (a bulging eye) is thyroid eye disease. This most often causes both eyes to bulge, but very often is asymmetric and only one eye is noticeably bulging. It can also occur due to a growth in the eye socket or vascular malformation.
