What type dr. works on groin pull that may require surgery?

Orthopedic surgeon: Groin pull may be muscles, or ligament, but if require surgery you may need an orthopedic surgeon.

Depends: Most of the "groin pulls" i see are related to groin hernia. A general surgical consult is a good place to start.

Sports medicine : Although only a handful of sports med docs perform surgeries on groin injuries, they tend to be the best diagnosticians when it comes to these types of injuries. There are also a small number of general surgeons who have become skilled at surgical correction of sports hernias and chronic adductor (groin) tendon problems.
