Too much glucose: Diabetics have a problem getting the glucose from their blood into their tissues. Their lack of Insulin or Insulin resistance causes the glucose that is in the blood stream to keep building up. When the blood goes through the kidney filter if there is a lot of glucose it is 'dumped' with other waste products into the urine glycouria results.

When sugar in...: Blood over ~ 200-220, the kidney lets the 'extra' sugar go out in urine.
