Immoglobulin finding: If a person has an unusually large number of antibodies, but not a single one in great excess, we speak of a polyclonal gammopathy; it's never a specific finding. An abundance of a single antibody is a monoclonal antibody "spike" that is quite common but may indicate or precede (often by decades) plasma cell "multiple" myeloma.
