A proper name: Masaoka is a proper name. Another person with this name is Professor Akira Masaoka, of Japan, who, in 1981, with his colleagues Monden, Nakahara, and Tanioka, proposed a way to classify thymomas, a type of cancer involving the thymus gland. The system is called the Masaoka Staging System.
