A member asked:

Is the initial immunoassay in a lab as accurate as a drug test?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Sensitivity &: Specificity. Inital screening tests, usually immunoassays are set at high sensitivity and have some false positive results. Confirmatory tests have high specificity, but are not suitable as screening tests.
