A member asked:

Are there visual eye implants for people who lost their eyes to trauma?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Not yet: The "implants" that are currently in use for replacement of injured eyes that have become blind are cosmetic in nature. They are quite good at duplicating the appearance of the uninjured eye, and many have good apparent eye movements too. As of this time, there is not an implant that can replace the injured eye with an eye that has vision.
