Unrelated !: A hiatal hernia is a very specific but very common bulge of the stomach through the hiatus of the diaphragm (the opening in the diaghragm through which the esophagus in the chest cavity connects to the stomach in the abdominal cavity). Most of the time hiatal hernias are small, recurrent, but are not fixed in place. Mucosal biopsy of stomach is of no use in identifying why a hiatal hernia exists.

No: A hiatal hernia us a hole in the diaphragm. A stomach biopsy will never tell you the cayse.
