A member asked:

After a major motor vehicle crash my blood glucose level was elevated, why?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Adrenalin: When we are in an accident or in pain our body responds by increasing the output of adrenaline. Adrenaline mobilizes sugar into the bloodstream so that our muscles can use it if we are in a situation where we need to escape danger. Blood sugars are always high after an accident so don't worry but get your sugar checked by your doctor to make sure you do not have early diabetes.
