Yes: Your fingerstick glucose value will be affected by when and what you last ate. If you check your blood sugar in the morning with nothing to eat since dinner it should reflect your basal, that is normal physiologic, state. A bedtime snack may well be reflected by an elevated blood sugar in the morning.
