Varies: Some patients say supplements are helpful such as glucosamine and chondoitin. I do not see significant relief with those medication, but i also see patients with bad arthritis, so possibly people with milder disease may be helped by supplemnts. There are other supplents out there but possible benefits will vary from patient to patient. Talk your physician about possible interactions.

Hard to say: Everyone is different. NSAIDs are the mainstay of relief. Next would be things like steroids but they have significant impact on your health overall. Suggest supplements like glucosamine, chondroitin, circumin, reservation, etc might be helpful although research is mixed on these. Lastly stem cell therapies have shown some promise.
