What is oral health? no cavities?

Teeth, gums, cheeks: This is where preventive dentistry comes in. A common cause of gingivitis (inflammation of gums) is deficiency of co enzyme q10, a conditional nutrient. That means that it is synthesized in the body but if that fails it has to he taken as a nutrient. As we age this synthesis becomes less efficient so older people require it as a nutrient.

Much more...: No cavities is a good start, but oral health covers more than just that. It includes healthy gums and addresses other structures i the mouth such as the tongue, cheeks, etc. As a dentist, there are a number of areas that i'm looking at when I do an exam on a patient. A lack of cavities, healthy supporting structures (gums and bone), good oral hygiene, and other areas free of disease.
