Yes: Ibd is felt to be an autoimmune illness and as such has wide ranging effects on the body. Patients can develop biliary cirrhosis due to involvement of the bile ducts, uveitis, pyoderma gangrenosum as some of the possible effects of the disease in other parts of the body.
