Fever as friend: Fever is a natural body response to infection and helps by speeding the metabolism to meet the bodies needs. Germs also grow slower & reproduce less often in a heated host, allowing the body time to mount its defenses & attack the germs. A 1yo can tolerate temps from nl to 105, although they get grumpy at the high end. As long as your kid takes fluids well & plays some you can monitor at home.

See pediatrician: A fever should be monitored closely in an infant. Teething doesn't usually cause fever this high. If it gets higher see the doctor. When babies teeth they tend to place their hands in their mouths to seek relief from the process. This can help young immune systems develop but if they are exposed to something that makes them ill then medical intervention may be needed.
