Prostate removal with robot - does it have fewer complications or not?

No: The davinci robot gives incredible vision and dexterity but you do sacrifice your tactile sensation (no touch). No large study has shown a benefit vs open. What you want is to make sure your doctor has done a lot of whatever he's offering. For more: www.Peedoc.Com @thepeedoc.

Good question : Complication rates are surgeon dependent, not dependent on the technique used. A very experience open surgeon will likely have less complications than an inexperienced robotic surgeon. It is pretty clear however, that in general with robot-assisted laparoscopic radical prostatectomy, blood loss is less, hospital stays are shorter, and patients return to work sooner.
