Typically yes. It would be best to help the alcoholic person with a detox program from a Psychiatrist along with seeing a Clinical Psychologist with expertise in multiple types of psychotherapy for treatment.

Alcoholics are addicted and need there fix. If there lifeline is destroyed they will go ballistic and seek out anything that has any alcohol in it. Join AA for a better fix.
