Can cause or worsen: Binge drinking can lead to a number of different kinds of cardiac arrhythmias, including supraventricular tachycardia (svt) and atrial fibrillation. It's so common that it is named "holiday heart." modest social drinking (1-2 drinks) does not usually do this, although there are people who are very sensitive to alcohol's effects on the heart.
